Meet Our Missionaries

Joe and Millie Dawson

Joe and Millie came to Venezuela in 1953. They helped break down the Yanomamö language and were part of the team that gave them an alphabet. In 1973 they began working on the Yanomamö Bible translation. It was finished in 1984 and presented to the people. In 1990 Joe co-founded Misión Padamo with Bautista Cajicuwa.

Sharon Dawson

For years they have taken in children who lose a parent and experience neglect when the remaining parent cant care for them. Many little ones pass through the doors of this home. There are some who remain there permanently; little ones who were to face certain death the moment they were born into the world...

Faith Dawson

Faith Dawson has played many key roles in the village of Cosh. She has worked in the dispensary treating the sick, worked in the school program, teaching the children how to read and write in their own language and in Spanish, and has even written several Yanomamö primers . . . 

Ryan and Jenny Dawson

Ryan and Jenny are currently Serving in Peru where Ryan is flying for South American Missions. They are on loan to SAM because there is no flight program yet in Venezuela. Though Ryan's heart is in Venezuela and he and Jenny pray that it will eventually open up, they believe God has them using their abilities in Peru at this time . . .

Joel and Johania Dawson

Joel and Johania currently split their time between Puerto Ayacucho and Las Esmeralda where Joel helps buy supplies for the missionaries in the more remote areas. Joel also makes mission trips up the Ocamo river to reach remote villages and is planning to help his Uncle Mike with the Torch ministry.
